We go first, not instead
There is no version of this where a drone carries someone out of a building. The aircraft's job is to arrive ahead of the crew and hand them what is on the other side of the smoke.
About Caligo Dynamics
We build FireFly so the machine goes in first, sees through the smoke, and hands the picture to the people who decide.
Our mission
Firefighters lose the first minutes of every fire to smoke and distance. FireFly is an autonomous drone swarm designed to arrive first, see through the smoke with thermal AI, locate people and the fire's core, and keep directed suppression going without pause.
Autonomy is equipment on the truck, not a decision-maker on the fireground. A firefighter confirms every engagement, and the physical controller outranks the software at every instant.
The founder
Autonomous aircraft, autopilots and payload mechanisms, learned by building, breaking and flying them.
MS in Artificial Intelligence Engineering, BAU Washington, D.C., with a 4.0 GPA. He built and flies the FireFly demonstrator himself.
The team
Drone mechanics and AI. Built and flies the demonstrator: flight-control integration, ground station, perception, data pipeline and the beyond-line-of-sight link. Özyeğin University (Entrepreneurship), İTÜ (MSc Innovation Management), BAU Washington, D.C. (MS AI Engineering).
Systems and autonomy, focused on the swarm control problem: adaptive thrust as payload mass drops, and the insertion logic that lets a replacement aircraft take a vacated slot without breaking the formation. BAU Washington, D.C. (MS AI Engineering).
There is no version of this where a drone carries someone out of a building. The aircraft's job is to arrive ahead of the crew and hand them what is on the other side of the smoke.
A person confirms every engagement. The physical transmitter outranks the software, and a lost link returns the aircraft rather than leaving it over your head.
If a design does not survive an hour with a station officer who has actually made entry, it has no business on a truck. Your objections now are worth more than your approval later.
Who we want to work with
These are the partnerships we are actively looking for. If you are one of them, write to us.
Municipal fire services and forestry teams willing to run a controlled field pilot and tell us the truth about it.
Airframe manufacturers who can build at quality and scale, and suppressant specialists to formulate the pods.
The authorities who decide where autonomous aircraft may fly. We intend to earn permission with a safety case, not ask for forgiveness.
Careers
We are looking for people in robotics, AI, sensor fusion and aerospace engineering who want their work to matter on the worst day of someone's life. No open roles are listed yet; write to us anyway.
